Centipede
Centipede For Future Upcoming Show
(acrylic on panel 6 X 11)

The Centipede comes from Japanese Mythology. Centipedes are usually giant size and connected to the underworld. The most famous encounter of a centipede monster was near Lake Biwa. The hero Hidesato killed it and was rewarded an unending bag of rice from the king. In this fantasy illustration I wanted an animated feel. I made the centipede bright in color and the hero in the foreground monotone.
