Jinn (Jin, Djinn, Ghawwas, Genie, Jinni) For Future Upcoming Show
(acrylic and ink on panel 6.5x11)
The Jinn comes from Islamic mythology. It is a free willed spirit, but it can be controlled by magically binding it to an object. Most of us think of The Genie of the Magic Lamp in the story of Aladdin from The Thousand and One Nights or the Disney movie. Jinn have many descriptions, some live deep in the earth and appear as monstrous creatures, some take the form of animals, some have wings and can fly, others appear as black dogs, some eat or possess humans, and others can even appear as beautiful women. If the Jinn is fond of a person it can give them great wealth, protection, and power. If a does not like you it can cause you harm, torture, and death.
