Vodnik
Vodnik For Future Upcoming Show
(acrylic and shellac on panel 8X10)

The Vodnik comes from Russian mythology. It is the evil spirit of a drowned boy. The Vodnik is a shape shifter and can appear as a scary looking child with green hair or ugly fish. Unable to deal with its death it takes vengeance out on other humans who get to close to its pond by drowning them. For this creepy illustration I made a dark blue and green speckled background. For the characters I only used black, white, and chromium oxide green. This painting marks the one-third mark in the series.
