illustration of Yeti from Tibetan mythology
Yeti (Meh-Teh, Abominable Snowman) For Future Upcoming Show
(acrylic on panel 10 X 8)

The legend of the Yeti is Tibetan. Most Yeti are described as a large primate type of creature. The Yeti is one of the most popular and elusive creatures in cryptozoology. The Yeti may be kin to Bigfoot and other ape-like creatures spread through out the world. I decided to make this folklore illustration a single character in the midst of a terrible storm. Also make note that Yeti are primarily described as having dark brown to black fur. White is my interpretation this would make it more of an Abominable Snowman. The interpretation of the white fur comes from a mistranslation of Sino-Tibetan "metoh-kangmi" that actually means abominable man of the rocks. I have recently been informed by Richard Freeman a real cryptozoologist that Yeti may have actually lived in the forested rocky valleys well below the snowline.
